Texas State Cemetery

Today, Matthew's class visited the Texas State Cemetery.
It is the final resting place for many Texans who have served in public office or contributed something culturally significant to our state.
It was a beautiful day for a field trip.  We toured the grounds and learned about a number of people who are buried there and their contributions to Texas.
Matthew was even a little "famous" too amongst his classmates.  He found the headstone of one of his distant relatives who fought in the Battle of San Jacinto on April 21st, 1836. His friends were all impressed.
