Jacob decided to take on a pine cone yesterday...
and he lost!
He picked it up off the ground and somehow the vicious pine cone threw a piece of itself into Jacob's eye. After two failed attempts at flushing it out with water and a very long, sleepless night with lots of crying, I took him to the pediatrician this morning. Fortunately, his eye is just terribly irritated, but at least his cornea is not scratched. He has to wear that patch for at least a day. Hopefully, if he can keep from rubbing it, it will feel better and the redness and swelling will go away quickly.
