Relief from the Heat

We left the Palo Duro Club and the heat of Texas behind by heading up to Estes Park, Colorado.
The first thing Paul did after unloading the car was to walk out back to the Big Thompson River for a little fly fishing.
The first thing the boys did was lock Jacob inside the claw machine inside the house where we are staying.  I can see that many hours of fun will be had honing their claw skills.

This morning, we headed down the road to Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park for a little rock climbing and exploring.
While Paul and my dad took a guided fly-fishing trip, my mom and I explored Estes Park and took the boys on the sky tram.

We had incredible views,
and we got to feed peanuts to the chipmunks that live at the top of the mountain.

After our ride back down we stopped at Estes Ark for a photo op.  It is listed on our Roadside America app as a fun place to stop.  While it looks like a boat, it is really a store full of every kind of stuffed animal you can imagine.

Our first full day in Estes Park was cool and relaxing.
