We took a beautiful, winding, two mile hike in Rocky Mountain National Park with my dad to Gem Lake today.
There were tons of places to explore,
and a beautiful reflective lake waiting for us at the top.
Andrew even ventured out over the water for a little climbing.
There were tons of chipmunks waiting at the top for a little snack.
We happened to have some apples to offer them.
The boys spent a long time looking at the chipmunks and offering them apple.
The walk down had a lots of opportunities to climb,
and the cooler temperatures gave us a much needed break from the sweltering heat of Texas.
My mom's knee has been bothering her, so she was waiting at the bottom for a photo op.
I loved the hike. I think I need to find some local hikes to embark upon on a more regular basis.
