My friend, Michelle, invited us to her house for to make gingerbread houses. There was plenty of candy and lots of fun!
Andrew was pretty meticulous about his design.
Jacob ate one and then stuck one on the house and then ate one and then.....
Matthew was careful to put on details like a door knob.
Their houses turned out wonderfully!
After the gingerbread houses, the children all made reindeer food to sprinkle on the yard on Christmas Eve. Reindeer food consists of oatmeal and sugar sprinkles. It is sure to attract at least eight reindeer.
Look who arrived while the children were making the reindeer food!
Santa read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and lead the children in singing Christmas Carols. Jacob and my mom knew all of the words.
After singing and reading, Santa stayed long enough chat with each child and to take plenty of pictures.
It was a wonderful party and a spectacular way to jump start the holiday celebrations. I truly enjoy reconnecting with our hostess, Michelle and her family. She has been a friend since junior high and it is a joy to get to spend time with her more often now.
