Jacob is 4!!!

This afternoon, after his nap, Jacob asked me, "Am I four years old yet?" It is hard to believe, but yes, sweet boy, you are.

Jacob has grown into a busy, observant, smart, little boy.  He lives life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to join in on the fun.   I love his sense of adventure and enthusiasm for life.

About six weeks ago, Jacob announced that he wanted a spider themed birthday party.  He said he wanted a spider piñata and a spider cake.  So, I set to work thinking of spider ideas for his party. Luckily for me, finding spider stuff is super easy this time of year.

After sending out spider party invitations,
we found some spider decorations.
With decorations covered, we had to come up with spider foods.
We made spider Tootsie Pops,
and placed them on our spooky trees.
The boys and Nana assembled the spider cookies.
The spooky food included gummy tarantulas, apples with caramel dip, and veggies with dip.
In The Woodlands, I had a great cake lady.  I haven't found anyone here yet, so I just decided to make the spider cake myself.
I couldn't resist this cute spider trim when I saw it.  When Andrew saw it, he said, "No offense, Mom, but it seems like you've really gone overboard with the spider stuff."  Just one more way he is like his dad.
We played stick the spider on the web,
and the children attacked the spider piñata.
Jacob loved celebrating with his family and friends.  When I put him to bed tonight, he gave me a big kiss and said he loved his spider party.

Happy 4th birthday, sweet boy!
