On Sunday, July 10, we safely deposited Andrew at International Gymnastics Camp for a week of fun. One of the other guys in Cabin 10 was a boy named Travis from Virginia who Andrew met at IGC last year. It is always nice to see a familiar face.
The next day, we headed to the Pennsylvania Live Steamers train club. It is a really neat place. There are about 3 miles of tracks to ride on with tunnels and trestles too. My friend Fran's dad is a member and he has a train that the children could ride. Fran's dad was out of town, but he arranged for a friend to come help us get the train running.
First, the children helped get it out of storage and on to the tracks.
Matthew was in heaven when he got a turn to drive the train.
Fran was really nice to let Jacob take a turn at the controls.
He had a blast!
After about 3 hours of fun, it was time to put the train back in storage.
This caboose was given to the train club and restored. The kids wanted to go inside, but it is only used for storage and it was way too hot inside!
It was such a great day! We have never had the opportunity to do something like that. It was so much fun that Jacob was completely worn out...
We slept at Fran's parent's house that night and this is where Jacob crashed.
