We took the boys over to the Palo Duro Canyon State Park.
They caught a glimpse of part of the Red River. They were intrigued by the color of the water so we had a little geology lesson right there.
We hiked up closer to the canyon walls.
Along the way, we saw a replica of a dugout home. It was difficult for them to imagine a family living there.
We saw many animal tracks including raccoon, deer, bobcat and turkey.
Jacob didn't make it as far on the hike as we had hoped, but it was an enjoyable experience overall.
