Is it Bowling or Shot put?

Yesterday we decided to go bowling with our friends Abby and Sam. Unfortunately, I forgot the camera to catch the kids in action.

After practicing their bowling skills on the Wii game, it was time to try the real thing.



It had been awhile since Andrew and Matthew had been "real" bowling and they quickly found out it is tougher to throw an 8 pound ball than it is to swing the Wii controller. Andrew, Abby and Sam preferred the traditional bowling technique.

Matthew, however decided it was easier to try the shot put technique. Fortunately, despite the loud thud that occurred everytime he launched the ball, there didn't appear to be any damage to the lane. The kids were able to complete two full games and the funny thing is that Matthew won one game and came in a very close second on the other despite his unconventional method. The kids were all great sports and had a good time.
