Friends have told us that our house is fine. We did lose one small tree and there is no power, but otherwise it looks good. Before we left, the kids were expressing concerns about staying and having a tree fall on our house. I think our decision was a good one.

Change of Plans
After preparing the house and ourselves to stay and ride out the storm, we decided to check the traffic situation around the Houston area. We determined that the roads were fairly clear so we decided that we could go ahead and head to the calmer conditions in the Austin area. It took about 3 hours and 15 minutes to get there, but overall it was not a bad trip.

Lucky you! Here in Missouri City/Sienna Plantation our power went out Fri early evening and some still live without it. We had ours restored late Mon afternoon. Trees down by the roots, roofs fallen in, hardiplank ripped off -- quite a sight in our neighborhood. All in all quite an adventure!
