Andrew and I volunteered with Little Helping Hands at the Capital Area Food Bank sorting bread and pastries that have been donated by grocery stores into separate boxes to be shipped to local food pantries.
Boxes had to be weighed
and properly labeled.
This event was particularly meaningful for Andrew. He knows that there are people who do not have enough food to sustain them, but seeing that they were going to eat a cake that has been a little smushed or donuts that are extra sticky, made him understand even more how truly fortunate we are. If you ever get the chance to volunteer here, I would highly recommend it.
