Sophie's First Birthday Party

My niece, Sophie turns one on September 27th.  Today, we celebrated with food, fun and family.  Sometimes little ones are overwhelmed by too much birthday, but Sophie was a trooper.  No tears from her at all.  Part of the fun was there was a caricaturist there.  Here's what she came up with:
Paul and I also had a caricature drawn together at a party about 22 years ago.
Funny to see them next to each other.  I think the 1989 one is more like us, but that's probably just because we were so much younger in that one.
Andrew had his hair spiked today for the party.
Matthew would not smile.  I think he was a little unsure of what he'd gotten himself into.
Jacob had a lot of fun, as usual!

The boys all want theirs to hang in their rooms, so I guess I need to go shopping for frames.

My sister-in-law Mendy, also set up a "Photo Booth" area.  There were costumes and props for everyone to put on and pose for pictures.
We decided to join in on the fun.
Everyone always says that Andrew looks just like Paul.
There's Matthew's smile!
Jacob has birthday his mind and it's not just for Sophie's birthday.  He already has his own party all planned out.

We had a one-derful time celebrating with Sophie.  We look forward to many more!
