Little Helping Hands

Andrew, Matthew and I volunteered with a wonderful organization called Little Helping Hands today.   They provide opportunities for children to get involved in our community.
We went down to the Rainbow Room to sort diapers, wipes and formula.  The Rainbow Room is used by social workers to help outfit children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.
Matthew sorted diapers into stacks of six while Andrew labeled the tops of formula cans with expiration dates.
They loaded carts to be taken to the warehouse,
and they separated wipes into smaller baggies for quick access.

We all had fun and most importantly the boys were able to see that they can make a difference even though they are young.  My hope is that they will recognize the importance of helping others and become citizens who make a difference from here on out.  I was thrilled to hear them ask when we could volunteer again!
