Every year, on the last day of school, parents of fourth graders are invited to come as the rest of the student body holds a "Clap Out" to say goodbye to the fourth grade students who will be heading to intermediate school next year. The fourth graders parade through the halls of the school as the students and teachers clap for them. Finally, they head to the gym where they parade through so the parents can take pictures and clap for their children.
Jacob and I went to clap for Andrew. Unfortunately, I missed getting a good picture of Andrew. (That is him in the maroon shirt behind the tall boy in black.) Fortunately, another parent got a good one that he said he will email to me. I will post it when it arrives.
Of course, Andrew will not be going to intermediate school because fifth grade is still part of elementary school in Austin. I think that is for the best given that we are moving. It will be nice for Andrew and Matthew to be at the same school for a year while they are getting used to everything new. It was still fun to clap for him. He has worked hard as a fourth grader this year. We are so proud of him.
