Paul and I took Andrew and Matthew with us to look at five houses today. Four of them were not at all what we are looking for for a variety of reasons: a couple were just too small, one had a pool in the FRONT yard (yes, that is totally strange), one was a bad location, etc. The fifth one though is a definite possibility. We are doing a little more research on it and MIGHT make an offer.
It is a two story that has four bedrooms that are extremely spacious and two and a half baths. The kitchen is a little small, but definitely workable and it has the potential to be remodeled to fit our needs more. It also has all new energy efficient windows which Paul REALLY likes. I like that it is about 3 or 4 blocks from the elementary school.
It does have a pool which we didn't really think we wanted, but we could make it work and there are a few things we would like to change sooner rather than later, like the flooring upstairs, but over all it is a good fit for us, especially with the other houses we have seen that are out there right now.
Once we do a little more research, we will decide how to proceed. The four of us left there thinking we could see ourselves living there. Andrew and Matthew even picked out which bedrooms they would want. If we don't make an offer, we'll head back out on the hunt in March.
