One of the houses Paul and I had been watching online suddenly dropped drastically in price on Friday, so I called Paul and he was scheduled to go see it Friday afternoon. My mom and his mom were going to go along too to get the female perspective. I knew we needed to act quickly on this one because it was such a drastic price reduction. After giving it some thought, I decided I couldn't stand it and I had to go too, so I pulled the boys out of school and jumped in the car to meet them at the house in time.
There were three things we really liked about it: It was a four bedroom (There aren't a lot of those in the area we are looking, mostly three bedrooms.), it was two blocks from the elementary school and the price was just right. It needed a TON of work, but given the other qualities, we decided to make an offer. There were two other offers as well. Unfortunately, the seller was looking for a quick sale, so they chose another offer. We understand completely. They just weren't willing to wait a little longer to close when we were comfortable, so the search continues. I know we can find a house in our price range with four bedrooms. It remains to be seen if we can get the location we prefer. What will our compromise be?
