Meet Rico. He is the first equine addition to the Crazy 8 Ranch.
One of the nurses Paul works with has a pair of donkeys. Rico is their latest offspring. He is about 6 months old.
He didn't seem to know what to think about being dropped off at this strange place.
That didn't last long though. By the afternoon, he felt comfortable letting us get closer to him. We were even able to pet him some.
The cousins all decided that before we could let him out into a larger enclosure, we had to have a ribbon cutting ceremony. Andrew and Ben held the ribbon while Tyler spoke a few words to mark the occasion. Then the ribbon was cut and Rico took off to check out his newly enlarged space. He seemed giddy to have more room to roam.
It is safe to say that he is adjusting to his new surroundings. We spent a good amount of time enjoying the company of our new friend. We are anxious to see how much he has grown by the time we go back to the ranch.
