If you see this little creature, do not touch it! It is a Puss Caterpillar, also known as an asp. It is supposedly the most poisonous caterpillar in the United States.
One of our neighbors was on our front porch and touched one of our chairs not knowing this little guy was on there. He was immediately stung. Though he was stung on his pointer finger, the pain quickly ascended his arm and went into his lymph nodes. With some Benadryl, ice, tape to remove the stingers and rest, he will be fine, but I know he won't touch one of these caterpillars ever again if he can help it.
