At school today, Matthew and I learned a little bit of Texas history. One of the girls in his class is the great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Dr. Charles Stewart. He was the first Texas Secretary of State and is credited with drawing the original draft of the Texas flag.
No, Matthew is not holding this paper upside down. When Dr. Stewart handed the paper across the table to Mirabeau B. Lamar, the President of the Republic of Texas, the flag was facing Dr. Stewart, but President Lamar did not know that it was upside down. He approved it and signed it that way.
All of the kindergarten students
Matthew is the third one in from the right on the first row.

That is so sweet of Mrs. Spackey to come in and do that for the kindergarteners. I know she enjoys representing her family that way.
Didn't know about he upside down thing. :)
