The post office has many, many shipments of books that are refused or cannot be forwarded, so they donate them to the Department of Child and Family Services to be handed out to needy children by social workers.
We volunteered at the Rainbow Room to take the books out of boxes and count and sort them.
I think this activity really impacted Jacob and Matthew. They realized just how many books they have at home and they took their jobs very seriously.
