Lucky for us, the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships were being held in conjunction with the Region 3 Championships.
So we got to visit the University of Oklahoma campus and watch the elite collegiate gymnasts compete in the team competition.
Andrew had never seen gymnastics of this caliber performed live. He was in complete awe. He asked me if I had a pen. I happened to have a permanent marker in my purse and he went around asking the gymnasts to sign his Regional Championship shirt. He even got Olympic gymnast, Jonathan Horton to sign.
He and his buddy Drew, got right up next to this year's NCAA 1st Place Championship team from the University of Illinois and they got to see guys they have met at International Gymnastics Camp perform live. It was so exciting and inspiring for them!
One of the first things Andrew did when we got home today, was have me hang his autographed shirt up on the wall in his room. When I asked him if he wanted to wear it instead, he said no because he doesn't want the signatures to be washed away.
