Matthew's team had their first game on Saturday, but he was in Bryan at his gymnastics meet, so he had his first game as a member of the PawSox team tonight. The teams in his league are named after minor league teams. That's why you have likely never heard of them.
His coach does a great job of rotating all of the boys through the different fielding positions. While this is a coach pitch league, they still position someone at pitcher for the fielding aspect. Matthew was at pitcher when a line drive came right at him. He caught the ball and threw it straight to first for an out. It was an awesome play. He couldn't stop talking about it after the game. What a confidence builder!
It is fun to see Matthew back out on the field, meeting new guys, and most importantly, having fun! It looks like the PawSox are off to a great start!
