Matthew has had a great couple of days celebrating his birthday!
I took big chocolate chip cookies to school yesterday so he could celebrate with his classmates.
Looking at the weather forecast this week, we just knew Matthew's party was going to be a wash out, but by the grace of God, it rained before and after his party, not during. He was near tears last night thinking he would not be able to celebrate with his friends. You should have seen the smile on his face when he knew the rain was going to hold off.
We held his party at the same place he had his class field trip. They set up a water slide for the children and provided water squirters for even more fun.

The overcast skies made it a little chilly, but he didn't mind at all.
All of that slipping and sliding left some very hungry children. They managed to finish off three quarters of this giant cookie cake.
It is hard to believe it has been seven years since we brought that sweet baby boy home from the hospital to enjoy his very first birthday cake that Andrew helped make for him. He is fun loving, eager to help and does extremely well in school. We couldn't be prouder of him!
