4th of July

My parents' neighborhood has a 4th of July parade and picnic every year.  The past few years, we have been at the ranch, but this year, we were around to participate.
The fire truck leads the parade.
Sophie came too!
At the end of the parade there was a giant foaming slide set up for the kids.
The boys all loved it!
Luckily, no one got soap in their eyes.
There were also canoes available for rides on the lake.
Paul took Jacob and Andrew in one canoe while my brother, Michael took Matthew in another canoe.
We skipped the hot dogs at the park and headed back home for hamburgers and the fixings.
We finished off the night at the bridge over the lake watching a wonderful fireworks show.
The combination of the location over the water, the lights from the boats on the lake and the close proximity to my parents' home , made it the perfect fireworks experience.
Happy birthday, America!
