The Crazy 8 Ranch is next to an egg packing plant. Mimi arranged for the boys and all of their cousins to take a tour.
We got to see the eggs come down the conveyor belt after they had been laid by the chickens.
We watched them being washed...
and packaged.
Finally, we got to go into the giant refrigerators where the eggs are stored until they are loaded on the trucks to go to the grocery stores.
Our "tour guide" let us see so much and answered all of our questions. Now we know what goes on in that neighboring building.
It was a great learning opportunity for the children and the adults alike.

In this photo, these children actually appear to be pink and breathing. The few times I've had to step into a chicken barn, I've not tarried for want of fresh air.
