The Wild Wink

Last night Andrew and I went to the Houston Zoo for their "Wild Wink" program with the Cub Scouts.  We had pizza and fruit for dinner followed by a night time tour.  We saw what the elephants, lions, giraffes and cheetahs do at night.

After our evening adventures, we got to spend the night on the floor in the Reptile house. Our sleeping bags were just outside the albino American Alligator's habitat.  He was in the pool in there behind us, but it didn't really show up on the photo.

After a very long night with a symphony of snoring dads and croaking frogs, we continued our tour of the zoo.

We got to  see the big cats being fed and the sea lions out for their morning swim.

The educators brought out a couple of animals for the scouts to touch.  This picture is a little blurry, but Andrew was petting a duck.

It was fun for us to see the zoo at night and be with our scouting friends.  This adventure also served as a reminder to never take our comfortable and quiet beds for granted.
