Today is Jacob's 2nd birthday! He had a great day with so much fun!
Our town center area has a trolley that runs daily. Every time we see one, Jacob yells "Trolley!" So I decided that it would be a fun birthday activity for the two of us to do today.
While we were waiting for the trolley to arrive, we saw a few pumpkins at the grocery store so of course we had to take pictures.
We were the only ones on the entire trolley ride. At the end of the ride the driver let him get up next to her and ring the bell. He would have done it a million times if we would have let him. The trolley ride was such a simple, pleasure filled ride for Jacob. He was in awe of the whole thing. He saw and pointed out water fountains, mounted police on horseback, the water taxi and so much more. It was great to see him having such a good time and enjoying all of the sights and sounds. It reminded me that I need to slow down and enjoy the world around me.
After the trolley, we headed into the grocery store for a few last minute items for the party tonight.
Jacob is taking cookies to school tomorrow to celebrate his birthday with his classmates. After a much needed nap, he helped me make the sugar cookie dough. He was eager to help and really interested in how the mixer works.
We had three families come to help us celebrate with pizza for dinner...
...and cake with ice cream!
Without any coaching, he knew just what to do! In fact, he blew the candles out twice before we finished singing "Happy Birthday".
He also knew just what to do when it came to eating the cake and ice cream!
All in all, it was a great day.
Happy Birthday, Jacob!
We love you!
